This year, Daikin is celebrating its 95th anniversary, highlighting the hard work of an innovative company that remains at the cutting edge of technology to offer exceptional products to its customers.
Let’s take a look back at the last few years to see what has made Daikin the company we know today. Here’s a look back at a beautiful story of corporate success!
Daikin: From Yesterday to Today
Daikin was founded in Japan in 1924. From the very beginning, the company aimed to become the world’s undisputed leader in air conditioning systems. Daikin’s mission was to provide comfort to people all over the globe, allowing everyone to enjoy a pleasant living environment in all seasons. As it approaches its centennial, Daikin continues to pursue and accomplish this mission with pride.
Today, Daikin is present in more than 150 countries and employs nearly 77,000 people worldwide. Committed to the development of its teams, it invests significant amounts annually in providing technical and sales training to its employees and partners.
Unlike other industry players, Daikin is involved solely in fields related to its expertise: manufacturing air conditioning and heating products, compressors, and chemicals, such as refrigerants and oil used in their residential and commercial equipment. This specialization enables Daikin to offer the best devices for residential, commercial, and industrial use.
In 2017, Daikin produced 6 million air conditioners, representing an average of 13 devices per minute.
The Daikin Difference
Daikin proudly claims to be a company recognized worldwide for its innovative spirit. It’s no surprise, considering the company’s significant investments in research and development, resulting in numerous patents, around 20,000 in total.
These research efforts are conducted not only to provide consumers with state-of-the-art technology products but also to achieve continuous improvement in environmental protection.
Committed to doing its part to protect an already fragile environment, Daikin has always wanted to offer its customers a comfortable living space, but not at any cost. For Daikin, the environment is a priority, and this focus is directly reflected in its work approach. Offering the best products is essential, but so is providing products that care for the planet. In 2017, 83% of the residential air conditioners designed by Daikin were environmentally friendly. Daikin products equipped with Inverter technology enable the company to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 54 million tons, equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by more than 6 billion trees and the CO2 emitted by 44 million cars. The technology at the heart of Daikin products also allows for an average of 30% less electricity consumption compared to more conventional products available on the market. Indeed, its devices use refrigerants with, on average, at least two-thirds less global warming potential than traditional refrigerants.
There is no doubt that Daikin is a company that has successfully established its brand over the past 95 years by offering its customers high-quality and environmentally friendly products. Let’s wish our beautiful company many more decades of success!
